How It All Began
Their story began at a bonfire, where they instantly clicked over their shared love for volleyball in the CCU church league. Vanna, who also played basketball, was known for being lively and open but never expected more than friendship while at school in SoCal. But with Brando, things just worked. They spoke the same lingo, hung out daily, shared meals, and went to church events together — their bond grew naturally and deeply.
The Pokémon-Inspired Proposal
Brando knew early on that Vanna was special. After bringing her to countless family gatherings, where she effortlessly cared for his nieces and cousins, even his late grandfather gave his blessing. With a little nudge from loved ones (“Don’t mess this up!”), Brando planned a perfect proposal.
Since both love Pokémon, he organized a surprise picnic and Pokémon hunt with friends near American Canyon. When they caught a Starley, Vanna had no idea what was coming — until Brando, nervous but glowing, popped the big question.
What Makes Their Love Unique
Vanna loves how Brando makes her feel safe and cared for — even little things, like brushing her teeth around him, feel comfortable. He challenges her to grow and reminds her to take care of herself, not just others.
Brando, an introvert, appreciates how Vanna pulls him out of his shell and makes life more colorful. Together, they’ve built a home filled with laughter, love, and even their playful German-Husky, Milo.
